Kontronik
Pyro Motors
Recently we have begun testing the new
Kontronik Pyro motors (PYRO700-45, or PYRO 700-52), in our 700 E conversions.
The motor are performing
fantastic. We feel that they seem to have every bit if not more power than the
Scorpion, yet coupled with the efficiency and cool operating temps of the Xera
and the Neu
The high price of these
motors is easily justifiable once holding one of them in your hand. The
craftsmanship and build quality of these motors is second to none.
In combination with the Pyro motors we have been
testing them with the Kontronik Jive 80HV controller ( JIVE80HV). This combination has
provided us with insane performance coupled with great reliability and cool
operating temps.
Trex 700E
Conversions
Over the last few weeks we have been doing
extensive testing on various 700E Setups. Currently we are flying

20T pinion, Mod.7 Gears (Standard Align –1 main gears)

18-30c, 3800-5100 mah packs

We’ve found by running lower mah (LIGHTER) packs the
machine flew overall much better due to the lower weight

2100 – 2200 RPM Head Speed
·
Align 610 servos on 8 volts
·
Spektrum 5203 dual output Step down Regulator for Gyro
This setup provides Excellent power and very reliable operation.
Team Pilot Al Austria used this similar setup to win
the Amateur 3d contest at the 2009 Orlando Heli Blowout.
Castle Ice controllers
We have begun testing on the new Castle ice controllers
All we can say is WOW the Esc works really well and the data logging is just amazing. So far on 500 size machines the BEC seems rock solid.Going to do more testing on bigger machines soon
We are using same settings as below
Align 610 and 620 servos
We have many flights on these servos on 8 Volts these servos are really good. I personally i haev switched to them in all my machines.
XERA Motors
Trex 700 E conversion Xera.
We are seeing longer flights times
lower pack temperatures
Electron Esc's
We have been flying the Electron 85/110amp Esc in our Outrage 550
on 6s& 8s with VERY GOOD results
Soft start is Nice
Governor mode works really Nice

Make sure you Calibrate your throttle to you esc
High Gov mode
Current sensing - Insensitive
12khz
Timing -Standard
Brake - Disabled
I don't use Normal mode only Idle 1&2
I always keep my Throttle between 50% to 60% as i feel this is the sweet spot on the Castle controllers
And i gear to get my head speed to stay in that window
Also when using High Gov mode figure your Head speed @ 300 rpm over@ 100% and that will put you into the ball park of the 50% to 60%
I will post a actual file up here as well
This will work with any software version but works very well with the latest version

09/08/2008 Atom News
Through some testing we have found the Stock ESC set in fix endpoint mode with low timing works really well for a straight out of the box combo in the ATOM 500. We have also been flying the 80 amp Flighttech ESC in gov mode and the CC80 in gov mode. Both ESC's are a great up grade for a little more “Smack Down” flying.
Batteries For The Atom
We highly recommend for the Atom:
1) Flight power Evo 3200 6s 22c
2) Outrage 3000 6s 25c
3) Outrage 2500 6s 30c
CC Software
We have many flights on the new CC software and it is working very well. I would recommend it to any one. It makes it as easy as plug and play. We have it in 4 machines ranging from a 450 size to a 700 size electric and it is flawless so far. We also have found a few little tweaks that will give you that Castle gov edge.
Knight 3D E 6s FlightTech 100 amp
Knight 3D E 6s FlightTech 100 amp ESC VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!
We have been flying a stock Compass Knight 3D E 6s kit with a FlightTech 100amp 6s ESC, using Outrage 6s 5000 packs. Performance is really nice. I recommend it to any one who is doing sport flying to 3D flying.
Update Castle Software
We 10 flights on the new Castle software, it is very impressive. The ESC actually acts like a Jazz now. RReModels.com can actually send you your CC controller programmed for your helicopter taking all the guesswork out of it.
Knight 3D
Scorpion 740 kv motor on 8s with the stock Compass ESC. What a home run! This combo is REALLY NICE!! I will post some temps and flight times after tomorrow.
CC 3.11 software 2.0
We have begun testing the new CC 3.11 software 2.0 combined with some Scorpion motors.
Scorpion ESC's are being tested. We will be posting some results here as well.
Flight Tech 80 amp ESC's
Flight Tech 80 amp ESC's are being tested. Clint Atkins has done a great job on this ESC. So far we are very happy with the soft start and gov mode. Look for them very soon on our website.

We will be shooting video with some setups for those who didn’t make it to IRCHA. Wait till you see the 8s 3700 Scorpion setup in our Logo 500's. The Kinight 3D stock motor makes plenty of power but we have taken it to the edge with a 4025 series Scorpion.
